Deluxe 2LP red vinyl pressing of the award-winning soundtrack for id Software’s 2016 reboot DOOM, composed by Mick Gordon. The audio was specially cut for vinyl at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios. Pressed on 180g blood-red vinyl and housed in a deluxe gatefold jacket with full-printed inner sleeves, this release includes 20 fan-favorite tracks hand-selected by the game's developers.
Winner of Best Music / Sound Design at The Game Awards 2016 and BAFTA Games Nominee, Gordon's score channels heavy industrial metal and analog synthesis to mirror DOOM's brutal power-fantasy gameplay. To represent Hell's corruptive "Argent Energy," Gordon created the "DOOM Instrument"—a custom setup directing pure sine waves through four separate processing chains to dynamically distort and corrupt generated sounds. The soundtrack also incorporates subtle callbacks to the franchise’s 1993 original, including layering screeching guitar riffs with sound effects recorded from an actual chainsaw.
