Standard circulation 2 euro coin - France - 2002

First-series standard circulation 2 euro coin issued by France, featuring the iconic "Tree of Life" (L'Arbre de Vie), designed by Joaquin Jimenez.

Features a stylized tree enclosed within a hexagon (symbolizing the shape of mainland France). Flanking the tree trunk are the letters R and F for République Française. The national motto LIBERTÉ ÉGALITÉ FRATERNITÉ (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity) surrounds the central motif. The date 2002 is split across the bottom outer ring. The edge lettering repeats 2 (alternating upright and inverted).

Mint Mark: A Cornucopia (horn of plenty, the mint mark for Monnaie de Paris) and a Bee (the privy mark for Mint Master Gérard Buquoy), both located along the inner ring.
